I can’t wait to take my son to Disney, but he’s only 2, still naps, and isn’t potty trained. But looking around @disneyland, it seemed that almost everyone had a baby or toddler at the park. 🏰🐭🎈

A part of me wanted to bring him because I know he’d love seeing the characters. But it would have been such a different experience for my girls and I think it would have been MAJOR sensory overload for him, too, A lot of the slower rides can be a little scary and it’s just a lot coming at you all day.

So we left him at home with my husband and I took my girls on a solo trip to Disneyland. We were able to navigate the park pretty easily, no toddler meltdowns, and we even made it to the 9:30 fireworks! (Which are at 11:30 our time).

I plan on taking my kids once a year (ish) for 1-2 days max (more would break me 🤪) until they stop waving at the characters. There’s something so sweet and innocent about their excitement when they wave back, and I love it.

Would you leave your toddler at home or bring them along?

I’m working on a post recapping the different lightning lane passes. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below. 👇🏼

What’s the most inappropriate thing your toddler said? My oldest called her fluffy “slutty” but that feels like nothing compared to my son asking for c*ck every day 🫠

I really did almost forget that this was the whole point.

Then she got sick. And she ended up in the ICU. There was a time when I didn’t know if we’d ever get to do things like this again.

It changed me.

I’m not telling you that your time is limited or that you need to enjoy every moment. But life can feel hard, crazy, and busy, and sometimes, we’re not fully present.

I left the job that didn’t make me happy. Walked away from something stressful that had lost all meaning.

I had a third baby.

And I started to live.

bought a special video camera to document these moments and stay off my phone, and I was able to really take it in. If you’re interested, it’s linked in my Amazon shop, and I’ll share in stories, too.

I’m going to take my kids to Disney every year until they stop waving at characters in the parades because those moments are, for me, peak childhood magic.

And there was a time when I never thought I’d get to experience them again.

The most magical 2 days at @disneyland with my girls. It was my first time traveling solo with 2 kids, and they did GREAT. We’ve come such a long way from back when I was scared to take my first out alone. 🙃

For me, 4 is the age when travel feels easier, so at (almost) 5 and 7, this was the DREAM.

I’m working on a recap of our trip, the rides they loved, navigating the parks, and our experience with the standard and premiere lightning lane passes since we did one day of each. If you have any questions about our trip, just leave them below!
