We are headed to Mexico for a family trip in a few weeks, and I don’t need much since I have the most essential items for a beach vacation. But I wanted to get something fun for a date night, along with some casual knit and linen pants for beach days. My personal style is pretty classic, with a neutral color palette, but I do enjoy a pop of color for spring and summer. Spring Break Outfit Ideas

When it comes to packing for a beach trip, I usually pack pieces that are easy and comfortable to wear. Think lightweight fabrics, floral dresses, and swimsuits and cover-ups for daytime beach hangs. Versatility matters, so I like to think about what goes well from day to evening. I always stick to one-piece swimsuits since that’s what I’m most comfortable in, and then choose breathable fabrics and love breezy fabrics, floral prints, a few bold colors, and a matching set or two.

Now keep in mind that we’re traveling with our kids, so this tropical getaway won’t include pool parties or evening events outside of our one date night.

For Date Night

We’re going on vacation with my in-laws who offered to watch the kids one evening so we can go on a date night. This is the perfect time for a special occasion dress or a fun two piece set. While I usually stick to neutrals, vacation (and summer in general) feels like a good time to have some fun with color. I’m really loving all the lightweight satins that are coming out right now.
