I’m in home design mode. We’re at the house almost every day – choosing floor stains, paint colors, and fabrics. We’ve had fun (and have also been a little overwhelmed) with the design process. And as I mentioned, tomorrow marks one week until Margot’s surgery so I’m feeling it. It’s been very hot here, so I’ve been getting out with the girls and making fun summer memories while wearing my favorite it’s too hot I don’t know what to wear dress. I didn’t realize how great this dress would be on those too hot to be outside days. It is the summer style essential – chic but light and easy to wear.

The Edit: Summer Style

Last week, when we closed on our house and set up a little indoor picnic with the girls, I got a few messages about our picnic table and picnic basket. So, I started working on a summer post without a plan, and ended up here.

A few summer style notes:

I just got the waterproof tote for pool days, and it’s the perfect beach/pool bag. Minnidip just launched a new collection, and these beach chairs are gorgeous. I’ve also been on the hunt for some great melamine plates and ended up with these scalloped bamboo plates – they are perfect for the kids, too. And the tunic is one I’ve had (and loved) for years. It’s a classic that Emerson Fry keeps bringing back. Oh, and one final thought. If you’re in the market for beach towels, this is the only print that hasn’t sold out from the Weezie x Peter Dunham collaboration. and it’s so good.
