The last two years, I put real garland in my doorways and on both my mantel and stair railing. I love the look and smell of the real stuff but it dried out so quickly, looking brittle making a huge mess within two weeks. This year, I’ve been on the hunt for faux or preserved garland and started pinning lots of inspiration to my holiday board on Pinterest. I can’t really deal with garland that will leave me with brittle needles all over my house. We’ll still get a real tree, but when it comes to garland, I think faux is the way to go. I’ve been scouring the internet but turned to you on instagram, and put together a list of my favorite faux (and preserved) garland with your help.
I’m stuck between the Crate and Barrel cypress (on my list because a favorite designer recommended it), the faux cypress from Anthro, and both preserved options from Ballard. Which one would you choose?
Please note that I have only seen the cypress garland in person, but took a poll on instagram and put this list together based on your recommendations and ratings. For those of you who are looking for real garland, I’d recommend Trader Joe’s or Home Depot, and getting it later in the season if you can.
Crate and Barrel
This garland came highly recommended but is only available for store pickup. If you choose your store you can check availability online, but I imagine it won't be available for too long.
