I’m on a roll with these Life Lately posts, and writing one every month or so is much, much easier (than trying to write them weekly. If I get 2 blog posts up a week I feel like I’m killing it, so there’s that. It’s so so hard to find the time to blog but it’s something I love and I’m doing my best. That’s all we can do, right? Hiring, travel plans, decorating, anniversaries, and Margot is on the move! Here’s what’s been happening over the last few weeks. Life Lately 2019: March

Life Lately 2019: March

Personal

Margot’s best friend Liam turned 1! I remember meeting him so clearly and now he’s a whole year old. Katie (his mom) and I met on Facebook in 2013 and became fast friends, then met our husbands 3 months apart, got married 6 months apart, and had our babies 4 months apart. It’s been so much fun going through everything together, and it feels so special to see our babies become little buddies. ps Margot’s dress is Ralph Lauren, bought on major sale (which is really the only way to buy RL) months ago. I fell in love when I first saw it but it was $60 (insane!) so I waited until it was under $30 and snagged it.

Travel plans are still up in the air but it looks like we may be taking Margot on her first international trip. At the end of April!

Yesterday marked the 2nd anniversary of the day Conor asked me to Marry him. I know, I know. We don’t make a huge thing of these smaller anniversaries (our engagement and first date) but I do “celebrate” them because they were really special days for us, and it’s so fun to look back on them. We actually already made a reservation at one of our favorite spots for our first date anniversary because it’s an excuse to go out and that’s when it all began. I’m a sucker for looking back on special days/moments/times in my life and seeing how far we’ve come.

Margot

The day she turned 6 months she sat up and said “bababa” and last week she crawled the day she turned 8 months. Loves a milestone just like her mom. (ps still can’t believe I’m her mom!) She’s the sweetest, happiest baby. Her newest trick is giving me the biggest, messiest, open mouth kiss – it’s so cute! She pivots her entire body and reaches for me (and only me) whenever I’m in the room. She’s a good sleeper most of the time but loves fighting naps so she can stay awake and play. She’s happy 95% of the time, even when she’s tired. Love her and that big peach fuzzy head so much.

Health

Since Faster Way to Fat Loss didn’t do anything for me and I’m about 8 lbs from my pre-baby weight, I’m going back to what I know works, and have turned to Sophie Collins of Sip Savour Share for help. I messaged her for advice since I was feeling so stuck, and she wrote up a little something for me. Sophie had her son Liam a few months before I had Margot and has been my health/fitness inspiration since. I love how she approaches health because she’s so sensible and makes really healthy choices. She wrote up a plan for me that feels so doable (it’s basically clean eating which is what I know works for me. She has so many recipes / tips on her blog, too.

Home/Style

We are finally, finally, finally going to finish ordering everything and get to work on our house. The basement is a DISASTER (I’ll share some updates in instagram stories and save them to highlights). Here’s a look at what I’m working on for Margot’s bathroom. Expect a more extensive post (with source links) on each of the (2.5) bathrooms, plans for the basement, paint colors, lighting, etc. If you have any specific design questions or post requests, send them my way! I’ll link to the wallpaper here but please standby on everything else since sources aren’t finalized.

Conor and I went on our second date since Margot was born.

That sounds worse than it is since we’ve had a few couples dates, lots of plans with friends and kids, and a wedding or two, so it’s not like we haven’t done anything, but we could definitely be better about dating each other. Anyway! I shared this look on instagram but wanted to share it here as well in case you missed it.

This Line + Dot sweater is so soft, comes in a few colors, and is under $100, and these jeans are so stretchy and flattering. The shoes are Vince but they sold out. But while we’re talking about Vince shoes, there are some reallllly cute sandals for spring that I want to buy if it’s ever not freezing in Chicago.
