In this week’s episode of Tell Me Everything, I had the honor of speaking with certified grief coach @thememorycircle, Barri Leiner Grant.

Barri and I spoke just weeks after I lost my dog of 17 years. We talked about the different types of grief, how different the process can look for everyone, and the ways she’s kept her mom close. If you’re grieving or supporting someone who is, this is for you. Link in bio. #Grief

They tell us not to “get political” but politics impact ALL of us.

They’ve come for women’s rights, for immigrant families (news flash: we are all immigrants on stolen land), for the LGBTQ+ family, for moms who smile and say “it’s ok, I’m not mad at you” and try to drive away. As a mom to a cancer survivor, I feel sick that they’ve come for pediatric cancer research.

If following Taylor Swift political? No, of course not. But have politics and the patriarchy impacted her? Us? YES.

I am a white woman in a blue state who can afford basic necessities and healthcare. We didn’t have to fundraise when our daughter went through two years of cancer treatment. (If you’re new here, I raised over $400,000 to help other families and to fundraise, so I have tried to make it better.

I am very much aware of my privilege. But EVERYONE deserves to be safe. EVERYONE deserves to be fed, to have healthcare, and families belong together.

We all have a right to speak up.
